A Lyme Life ("we," "us") is Christina Carter's chronic-Lyme patient-advocacy site. We keep this simple and honest: we collect as little as possible, we use it only to help you, and we never sell your information.
What we collect
We only receive information you choose to give us:
- Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send occasional updates and resources.
- Contact & consultation requests. When you reach out through a form on the site, we collect the details you provide — typically your name, email, and your message — so Christina can respond personally.
- Self-assessment answers. The hyperthermia self-assessment runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are scored on your device and are not sent to us unless you deliberately submit your result or contact us about it.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not ask for sensitive medical records through this website.
How we use it
We use the information you give us to reply to you, to send updates you asked for, and to improve the resources we offer. That's it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Service providers
A few trusted third parties help this site run. They only receive what's needed to do their job:
- Formspree processes our contact and newsletter form submissions and delivers them to us. See Formspree's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics (Google) gives us anonymous, aggregate statistics about how visitors use the site so we can improve it. It sets cookies and processes usage data under Google's privacy policy. We use it only for aggregate analytics — never to personally identify you or to sell data.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) gives us anonymized heatmaps and session replays — an aggregate picture of where visitors click and scroll — so we can make the site easier to use. It sets cookies and processes usage data under Microsoft's privacy statement. We use it only to improve the site, never to personally identify you or to sell data.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces.
- YouTube (Google) hosts the videos embedded on our Watch & Learn page; playing a video may set cookies governed by Google's privacy policy.
Cookies
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used, and they set cookies for that purpose. Embedded third-party content (such as YouTube videos) may also set its own cookies when you interact with it. You can control or clear cookies anytime through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any message we send, or by contacting us.
- Access or delete the information you've shared with us — just ask and we'll take care of it.
